MagicJack, which has sold millions of its USB adapters for making phone calls via the Net, will soon launch a femtocell device, according to founder Jack Barstow. It reportedly plugs into a PC's USB port and synchs to any compatible mobile phones within 8 feet. The mobile phones can then be used within a 3,000 foot radius of the femto to make calls over the Net rather than adding minutes to the user's cellular bill. Retail is expected to be less than $40. |
