ViaSat completed its acquisition of satellite broadband provider WildBlue in December. WildBlue has about 400,000 satellite broadband subscribers, second in the States only to Hughes Network and its more than 500,000 subscribers. It's expected that many of the US' 10 million or so unserved homes will only be able to get broadband service from a satellite service such as Hughes or WildBlue rather than even from a wireless broadband service. |
