An independent test of TeliaSonera’s 4G broadband service showed downlink data speeds up to 47 Mbps and latency as low as approximately five times greater than the performance typically seen in 3G networks that have been upgraded to 3G’s fastest equipment, HSPA+.

The tests were conducted with a connected Samsung Kalmia LTE 4G modem.

SwissQual

, which conducted the test, is an independent network quality measurement company. It said it used its SwissQual Diversity Optimizer, which is designed to integrate new handsets and modems for emerging technologies such as LTE.
