Nokia recently released its financial results for last quarter, notably marked with a €1.39 billion ($1.95 billion) profit and total revenues of roughly €12 billion ($16.8 billion). Revenues were up 22% from the previous quarter but down 5% from a year ago.
Nokia has just announced the financial results for the previous quarter. The mobile giant reported profit of 1,395 billion euros (approx. $1,952 billion) and the revenue rose to 12 billion euros (approx. $16,8 billion). Revenue went up 22 percent from the previous quarter but had a 5 percent decline from year ago.
Nokia also noted that its Ovi Store, the app store for its mobiles, has reached 1 million downloads per day; this comes before a significant revamp and is a nice milestone for the company after its initial launch problems. Nokia said the updated version of the Ovi Store should be available by this spring.
Nokia claims that its Ovi Store has overtaken Apple’s app store in terms of most territories, though this seems limited to the Asia and Latin America regions. Apple has a small user base in those areas; overall, its app store sees over 300 million downloads per month — 10 times Nokia’s current rate. |
