Sony Computer Entertainment has announced a new app for its handheld PlayStation Portable that will provide live streaming video of the Arsenal’s English Premier League football matches, with one huge caveat: Users apparently must be in the Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. Users can see goal replays, player information and a slew of other videos and stats.
Downloading the app reportedly makes an Emirates Stadium Wi-Fi network accessible and will come with just a one-time usage fee upon download.
The app is great for fans who are going to the match, but Sony and its football partners should be looking outside of the stadium to reach those who would truly need the video updates. |
