Southwest Airlines says it’s purchased the equipment it needs to make Wi-Fi available on all its planes. Inflight Wi-Fi provider Row 44 got the order. It provides high-speed Internet access via the Ku band satellites. Roll-out is expected to begin this year and be completed by 2012. Southwest has not said how much it would charge passengers to use the service or whether the fee will be based on the type of device the customer has. An iPad, for example, might be expected to access the Net less than a laptop PC.
